Friday, July 15 2016 |
Fan report by Julio, from La Coruña, Spain.
It was an excellent summer evening. People began slowly to enter the Festival Mares Vivas venue in Portugal to be located at the top front of the stage. After a brief performances of Foy Vance and Kelis, Elton and the band appeared promptly at 21:00.
Elton was in a good mood. He congratulated Portugal for its victory in the European Football Championship and said he loved Porto, and is thinking to back on tour soon.
I really liked that he played two songs from the "Wonderful Crazy Night" album, especially "A Good Heart", where he made a special emotion.
The "Rocket Man" intro was amazing, with pieces from "Sixty Years On" and "Take Me To The Pilot". In addition, the new version of "Candle In The Wind" starting with Elton solo piano and the band joining, was wonderful.
Notably, "I'm Still Standing" and "Goodbye Yellow Brick Road" have new videos for he background screen.
A magnificent show. Elton still standing!
