Some fifty fans gathered at the Hard Rock Cafe in New York City on September 24, 2005, in order to warm up for the last show of Elton John and the band at Madison Square Garden.

It had been a while since Hercules has organized a fan meeting, so we thought it was about time that we put something together to mark Elton's "Captain Fantastic" shows at Madison Square Garden.

The event kicked off at 12 noon at a private room of the new Hard Rock Cafe on Times Square. Over lunch, Stephan Heimbecher (Hercules Coordinator and eltonfan.net webmaster), Sharon Kalinoski (Hercules USA), and Jim McKay (editor of the 22nd Row) chated with fans from all over the world.

The fans present at the meeting also cast their vote for the Hercules Composer Competition 2005, adding to the more than 650 online votes that already had come over the internet. At the end of the day, the winner happened to be the only contestant present at the meeting (Giorgio Onorato Aquilani, far left in the picture on the left). That way, we were able to congratulate him personally.
