Elton's former lover and manager of 25 years John Reid insists the singer's union with David Furnish will be a success - because the rocker's future 'husband' doesn't tolerate his legendary tantrums.

Reid, who met Elton in 1970 and lived with him for five years as his first gay partner, is convinced he has found a soulmate in 43-year-old Furnish because he is a strong independent character who can be Elton's equal.
