See Elton John and others free in concert
Saturday, April 30 2005 |
The Miller Outdoor Theatre is one of Houston's best gems. Every weekend from late spring through early Fall, an amazing variety of concerts and plays are available free to all viewers.
The ballet, the opera house, and a variety of bands and musicians lend their talent to the Miller schedule. Special plays and concerts for children are also featured during the week, making for wonderful class field trips!
On April 30, 2005 the Houston Grand Opera is celebrating it's 50th birthday with special guest stars Sir Elton John, Renée Fleming, and Bryn Terfel...a true once in a lifetime performance!
Although the shows are free, they do offer tickets the morning of each show. For popular concerts such as the one this one, it's a good idea to go pick some up to guarantee covered seating. The Miller also has a grassy hill above the theatre for anyone who wants to bring lawn chairs or blankets and kick back under the stars.
Concession stands are available and purchases help support future Miller programs.
